Groundwire Consulting is owned by Groundwire, a nonprofit organization based in Seattle that has been working with environmental and social change nonprofits for over 15 years.
Groundwire (formerly ONE/Northwest) was founded in 1995 by two of the region’s leading environmental foundations, The Bullitt Foundation and The Brainerd Foundation. Groundwire was launched with a vision to help Pacific Northwest environmental groups use the internet to build stronger ties to the public and to each other. Since their founding they have helped over 1,000 environmental organizations.
They exist to help nonprofits and foundations leverage technology and the power of human connections for the greatest impact. Groundwire delivers results in many ways including:
- They advise foundation grantees on how to use technology to build relationships on a scale that matters for their missions.
- They are home to Groundwire Labs, an incubator for new tools and approaches to use technology to reach, engage, and mobilize people.
- They develop strategic partnerships with foundations and organizations to bring the power of engagement to tackle some of today’s greatest social and environmental challenges.
